It’s hard to believe our first Leaven pop-up was almost 2 months ago!

Since then, Zach and I have been soaking up something we’ve never really had in our entire adult lives… weekends off together. ❤️ We decided we were going to take advantage of that!

Our first pop-up was just me and my son, and I was only able to offer a small amount because I was doing it solo while also working full-time as a daycare teacher. And let’s be honest… a toddler and a full-time job count as two full-time jobs, right?! 🙋‍♀️

We had to back out of a few pop-ups because I was doing it all on my own and was honestly just overwhelmed. Between a toddler, a full-time job, and trying to bring Leaven back in some capacity, there were only so many hours in the day!

But now… I’ve got my hubby back! 🎉

Zach landed a dream job where he gets to do what he loves—be a chef throughout the week—and he has weekends off. If you’re in the restaurant industry, you know firsthand that Zach basically found a unicorn job—a chef position with weekends off? Those practically don’t exist! 🦄

And now we are finally ready to start doing the pop-ups we’ve been talking about and dreaming about!

Stay tuned for dates! We are so excited to get back out there and see everyone again. We’ve missed you all so much!

Today was humbling in the very best way.

Our first pop-up since closing Leaven Bakery & Bistro sold out in less than an hour, and I'm still trying to process it all. To everyone who came out, waited in line, purchased pastries, shared kind words, and supported us—thank you. Your support means more than you'll ever know.

This morning it was just me and our one-year-old setting up and serving. As a mom, working full-time and trying to keep this little baking dream alive, today reminded me that sometimes taking a leap of faith is worth it.

A huge thank you to Amanda at Whimsical Cookie. She is an absolute badass. Not only did she help make this event happen, but her talent, work ethic, and support are incredible. I couldn't have asked for a better partner for this pop-up.

We definitely underestimated how much to bring, and we'll be making more next time! Thank you for showing us that there is still so much love for scratch-made pastries and for supporting small businesses.

My heart is full tonight. ❤️

Leaven Bakery is teaming up with our friends at The Whimsical Cookie, who graciously welcomed us with open arms for this special collaboration. ❤️

While Zach won't be joining me this time, he's been busy pursuing a new chapter as a chef at a wonderful local restaurant here in New Albany. I'm so proud of him, and I can't wait to see so many familiar faces again.

That’s a wrap on 5 amazing years. ❤️

Thank you, New Albany, for all the love and support—you truly showed up for us, especially this past week. It was by far the busiest week we’ve ever had, and we felt every bit of that love.

If we can leave you with anything, it’s this: support every small business as if they are closing. It matters more than you know.

We’re going to take a little break—much deserved—but keep an eye out for pop-up dates for our baked goods. We’re not gone forever. 😉

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every employee and every customer who walked through our doors. You made this journey unforgettable.
