We are heartbroken to inform you all about the status of our beloved baker, Mr. Hung Le.

Mr. Hung has been battling health issues for some time now and was recently diagnosed with cancer of the liver in November. We’ve learned since that it has spread to his lungs and kidneys as well. He is currently under the care of doctors at M.D. Anderson in Houston.

Whether it be a sandwich, croissant, cream puff, baguette, or a slice of king cake — if you’ve eaten Golden Croissant in the last 18 years, it’s been prepared by the hands of this man.

Mr. Hung has been a part of Golden Croissant for the past almost two decades…then the sole baker since our dad, Richard, passed. He is the hardest working man we know and the heart of the GC.

I believe our greatest strength is the love we have from our community. We are doing what we can to help, but we wanted to extend that to the people who enjoy our food, to the customers we serve everyday, and to the city we’ve had the privilege to be a part of for the 40 years we’ve been in business.

I’ve set up this GoFundMe for Mr. Hung and his family. All proceeds will go towards his family, medical bills, and future expenses. His wife currently cannot work, and his son has just begun college. Please give if you can, but most importantly, please keep him in your thoughts & prayers this holiday season ❤️
