🫐🫐 Blueberry Whirlwind Cookies 🫐🫐

Ingredients:
For the Sugar Cookies:
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cream Cheese Swirl:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Blueberry Swirl:
1/2 cup blueberry jam or preserves
Fresh blueberries (optional, for a more intense flavor)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto the prepared cookie sheets.
For the Cream Cheese Mixture:
5. Mix the softened cream cheese with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
For the Blueberry Swirl:
6. If using, smash fresh blueberries and mix them into your blueberry jam for a more natural berry flavor.
Assembling the Cookies:
7. Place a dollop of the cream cheese mixture on top of each cookie dough ball, followed by a smaller dollop of blueberry jam.
Use a toothpick or a knife to swirl the cream cheese and blueberry jam into the cookie dough, creating a marbled effect.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly golden. Let stand on the cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.
