Why sourdough might not spike your blood sugar as much

It’s all about how it’s made.

Sourdough takes time to rise. During that time, natural bacteria and yeast break down some of the starch in the dough.

This helps your body digest it more slowly so your blood sugar rises more gently instead of spiking fast.

That means steadier energy and fewer crashes.

But…
Not all sourdough is the same.
Some store-bought versions are made too quickly and don’t have these benefits.

If you want a healthier bread option, real sourdough can help.

Real bread doesn’t need a long ingredient list.

If you think about the past when there were no additives, no shortcuts people baked bread with simple ingredients:

Flour, water, salt… and time

What makes sourdough different is not what you add but it’s the time you give it..

Slow fermentation helps break everything down
so it’s easier for your body to digest and gives that deep, real flavour.

Nothing extra is needed because the process does the work…

Today, a lot of bread is made faster
with added ingredients to speed things up.

But real sourdough is slow simple and honest

That’s why it feels different

This is how bread was meant to be
and this is why I bake 🙏
