Seems like Dalgona coffee (whipped coffee? cloud coffee?) is taking over the world - so I attempted to make one this morning! The swirl isn't the prettiest, but it turned out quite tasty. The coffee itself is super strong and sweet, as it's made concentrated and then whipped with heaps of sugar, but it ends up tasting more like a coffee milkshake once mixed with milk (it was an adventure figuring out how to actually drink it)

Then the cookies just add even more of a caffeine punch.

Recommended for mid-mornings when you need an extra spring in your step for later!

Hey friends, hope you and your loved ones are safe and doing well!

We had a long break and a pretty busy 2019, remodeling a new location in Naperville, moving the commercial kitchen, and setting up the production space late January this year. Unfortunately, we hit a snag right as we were about to open our bakeshop doors in March - due to the current health crisis, we couldn’t invite anyone in to see our new space.

But there is a silver lining to this lockdown – we are productively using this time to plan out new ideas and begin services that would've happened much later on, like catering through ezCater, and delivery options coming soon through Doordash, UberEats, etc. We are also planning to pitch in our efforts through Naperville Helps, to serve our frontline workers at the Edward-Elmhurst hospitals.

Just doing our best at this time and keeping positive! We will also try to post more updates about what we are up to, and we can’t wait to meet all of you again at our new shop in Naperville. Until then, stay safe and keep positive :)

Light & airy ciabatta with a tangy crumb and a chewy crust. The bubbly, wet dough that results after a 14 hour fermentation is always a challenge to work with, but eating a slice of this bread with some cultured butter is definitely worth the effort!

Happy Memorial Day!
Today's balmy weather called for a light & refreshing supper, so quite spontaneously kneaded a ball of pizza dough! On top, went shredded artichoke hearts, onions, tomatoes, and olives all over a spread of pesto, plus sprinkles of romano cheese.

Secretly hid two of the overripe bananas from the Banana Nut Bread a couple posts ago, just so that I could make these glorious, melt-in-your-mouth loaves of chocolate goodness! It's got all the good stuff for decadent flavor: brewed espresso, browned butter, brown sugar, dark chocolate for the inside, and milk choco chips on top 👏 perfect way to start off a three day weekend.

This banana bread has a secret. Of course, it has an ample amount of sweet banana mash, and plenty of crunchy nuts, but the secret lies in the few drops of anise extract added instead of vanilla. And what a difference! Just banana bread now has a lingering sweetness, after the sweetness of the banana disappears, and an earthy flavor that complements the nuts.

Quick batch of these cute little buttons for Assamica Teas Afternoon Tea parties, made from a deliciously large amount of almond paste and fresh orange juice. The cake itself is pretty dense and rich, but this (gumdrop) button size is perfect for a quick bite with a cup of tea.
