Cookies Too Has Big News!
Dearest Cookie Lovers,
We've got some big news to share with all of you, but first... a little story and a lot of gratitude...
I'm not sure if many of you know that Cookies Too was started because the pandemic in 2020 had a very big, pretty scary impact on our livelihood... Robert's business consulting firm that focuses mainly on high-level meeting facilitation abruptly changed when the pandemic hit, and travel and communing stopped. It's hard to believe now how devastated so many of us were by the unexpected turn of events just three years ago. It's good to know that in the face of that difficulty, we were able to jump in and start a cookie business and all of you jumped in and supported us!!
Cookies Too was a larger success than we ever imagined in a multitude of ways. It was such a creative endeavor in rough times that kept fear at bay, our inspiration flowing, and our hands and minds busy... a very good busy! Being kind of newbies to Napa, living here about four years (and only one year in our new home) by 2020, the cookies opened the doors for us to meet SO MANY OF YOU and make some lifelong friends. We started everything at the St. Helena Farmer's Market and you all welcomed us with open arms and bought LOTS and LOTS of cookies! We made cookies for baby showers, weddings, celebration of life events, birthdays, graduations, family gatherings, business promotions, Mother's Day and Father's Day, Easter, Valentines Day, Halloween and the Winter Holidays... We made animal cookies, and flower cookies, and fruit shaped cookies and mushrooms and butterflies and... and... and the stories we can tell of how much you enjoyed our cookies... one darling little girl we met at the Napa Farmer's Market put her 'Fido With a Red Sweater' cookie in the fridge so she could see it when she opened the door... but had hard time eating it... another who noticed when I started making teeny tiny heart shaped noses on our kitty cookies... when I hand-painted hummingbird cookies and you bought them all up within the first hour of the market one Saturday morning... Parents enticed their children with the promise of a special cookie to get them enthusiastically out of bed and ready to go to the market!! Robert always made notes on every special moment that happened at the markets when I wasn't there. We would sit down when he got home and he would tell me every precious thing...
And there are those very devoted cookie lovers who bought and ate exquisitely obscene amounts of cookies because they love them so much...
You showed up for us and we are forever grateful for each of you and for this lovely, kind, and supportive community that is our home.
Because of our notable absence in recent months and the tone of this letter, you may be getting the hint that our big news is that we're closing the cookie business and are moving toward other endeavors that I look forward to sharing with you soon.
It's unusual to have a successful business and simply decide to do something else. We had many opportunities to grow the business... even Williams Sonoma sought us out to sell our cookies in their catalogues! I'm an artist at heart and believe in the inspiration of the Soul and I must always tend where it leads.
We're hoping that we can find someone who would be delighted to carry on our little cookie business as a home-based business like we did, a brick and mortar cookie bakery, or an addition to an existing business. So feel free to pass the word on to your creative peeps, let them know the opportunity to buy a sweet little cookie business with endless potential exists and send them our way.
It's difficult to make this decision because it's been such a very sweet love fest for all of us. Thank you all for doing your part so well...
I'm not crying... you're crying...
Super love and tons of smooches,
Shane & Robert
