❤️🥨 Here’s our name origin story: ’Love Park’ is what Philadelphians call JFK Plaza - where Robert Indiana’s iconic L-O-V-E sculpture lives. It captures everything we wanted our brand to convey: the heart of Philly, the love we have for the city and also the love we have for its favorite snack … pretzels! A real place and a real feeling. And, yeah, a really good pretzel!! 😉

💡🥨 A short lesson in what goes into making a pretzel a pretzel. The Maillard reaction is the chemistry behind the deep mahogany crust, the glossy sheen and that unmistakable flavor.

Every one of our pretzels takes a quick dip in a food grade diluted lye bath before it sees the oven. High pH is rocket fuel for the Maillard reaction. The bath pre-treats the surface so browning happens quickly and in the best way. 

A pretzel is not simply bread twisted into a shape. It is chemistry baked!
