🍪 A little royal icing tip from my kitchen! ✨

One thing I’ve learned is that royal icing can be very temperamental! After I flood my cookies, I place them directly in front of a fan on HIGH for at least 30 minutes.

The airflow helps the icing crust over more quickly, which can help give it that pretty smooth, shiny finish and also help prevent colors from bleeding into each other.

Of course, there are lots of things that affect royal icing—consistency, humidity, meringue powder, food coloring and even your recipe—but this simple little fan trick has made such a difference for me!

Just one of those little things I’ve learned along the way and thought I’d share. 💕🍪
