I love telling this story...In the late “70s, my father Victor Lahr had over 70 bee hives. Not only did he enjoy the hobby as a Bee Keeper, but after finding a moisturizing cream recipe in one of his Bee Magazines, he found great enjoyment in making a moisturizing cream from his beeswax and giving it away to everyone and anyone. Everyone loved and asked for it all the time.
As kids, we used it as a lip balm.
I have used it as a face cream for over 40 years now.
How did he come up with the Name…the grandkids called him "Grampa Vic" So needless to say, his cream was "Grampa Vic's". The recipe to his lotion was guarded...literally! He would not let anyone have the recipe. After many attempts to obtain the recipe, I finally had the privilege to learn how to make his "secret" moisturizing cream...but I am sworn to secrecy now as well-LOL!
My dad was 90 years old and still making his lotion. Sadly we, lost him in 2021.
When I started my "honey business" I thought the best name for it would be "GRAMPA VIC'S Wildflower Honey“. He has large shoes to fill...but I am always up for the challenge.
But most important, having his help on Honey Harvest Day was priceless. He had so much knowledge on the process and a lot of helpful advice and tips.
He is missed very much. But so many memories of him come flooding back every time I make his lotion.
