If your icing is drying flat, dented, or with craters… it’s not you — it’s your consistency + layering

That soft, pillowy / raised icing finish everyone loves? Here’s how to actually get it (beginner friendly)

• Start with a base flood and let it dry completely
• Come back with a thicker icing (think soft peaks, not runny)
• Add a small squiggle or mound in the center before flooding your detail — this builds height
• Use a scribe to gently guide the icing, not flatten it
• Pop air bubbles right away (this helps prevent craters)
• Don’t overwork it — the more you move it, the more it levels out

Most beginners use icing that’s too thin… which = flat cookies every time

Once you switch to thicker detail icing + intentional layering, it changes everything 🤍
