Come get a hot and fresh breakfast! I was up early this morning and made a breakfast roll with cheese, sausage, and eggs. It is topped with delicious sausage gravy! Limited supply!!
We also have bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwiches.

A Difficult Goodbye… and an Exciting New Beginning! PLEASE READ TO THE END FOR THE GOOD NEWS!
With heavy hearts, we’re sharing that Sweet Lou’s Bakery will be closing our doors. This Friday will be our last day. 9/11.
This has been an incredibly difficult decision, and there are several reasons behind it. The cost of doing business has continued to rise: from taxes and Ameren electric bills to ingredients, supplies, insurance, and other operating expenses. We’ve worked hard to keep our prices affordable for our customers, but unfortunately, we simply can’t continue to absorb these increases. We also don’t feel right raising our prices to a level that would put an even greater burden on our customers in the economy we’re all navigating right now.
Another major factor has been the remodeling work done on our building by a local contractor. Unfortunately, the remodel was not completed properly and has resulted in ongoing heating and cooling issues inside the bakery. As well as many other issues caused by them. Despite our efforts to deal with these problems, maintaining a comfortable and workable environment has become increasingly difficult and costly.
After putting so much heart, time, and hard work into Sweet Lou’s, making the decision to close our doors has been heartbreaking.
But this isn’t goodbye!

We’re excited to continue serving our community in a new way through Chief’s Brew by Sweet Lou! You’ll still be able to enjoy many of the same great drinks, some of your favorite baked goods, and select lunch options — just from our mobile setup!

A foundation created in memory of a Marion boy who died after battling leukemia is preparing for its third annual toy drive.

The Jamir Strong Legacy Foundation will collect donations throughout September in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The 2026 toy drive will run from Sept. 1 through Sept. 30 at locations across Southern Illinois.
