You can practically tell he’s thinking: “Patience, human. Flavor takes time.”

Absolutely adorable—and clearly a hardworking little scientist bubbling away to make your loaves perfect. Sir Isaac Gluten deserves a tiny lab coat and maybe his very own monocle. 😄 🤣 Now it’s time to feed the little guy and put him to bed. He’s got a big day of bread making tomorrow. 🍞🥖

Have you heard of Springerle cookies? They’re German cookies made with anise oil and anise seeds (see the little seeds on the parchment?). You can make them different flavors—- anise, almond or lemon….

Think sugar cookie/macaron/licorice flavor. These are some of my dad’s favorite cookies to dunk in his coffee. They’re drying right now waiting for their final bake tomorrow evening. 🥰😍 Aren’t they pretty!!!!
