Our Story

Sweets On Second began long before I was officially in business. I always loved baking and many years ago, I offered to bake cupcakes for friend’s circus-themed birthday party. They turned out great and from that party I got more business, and it quickly grew by word-of-mouth. I made my dream a reality in 2014 and opened Sweets On Second. Not long after, I was diagnosed with celiac disease, so I also began offering gluten-free goodies as well. As we all know, life can get crazy, so in 2017, I slowed down as the kids grew older and busier, I took on more hours at my day job as a recruiting manager, and we inherited a beach house in Rehoboth. While things slowed with the business, my heart always missed it, and I’m excited to reopen! This time, it’s all whoopie all the time! That’s right, I’m focusing exclusively on whoopie pies! The beloved central PA treat has always been near and dear to my heart (and others, based on it’s popularity!). My popular chocolate whoopie pie and filling recipes are old family secrets, and over the years I’ve developed my own recipes for other flavors like pumpkin, red velvet, carrot cake, chocolate chip, and banana. Enter, the “Wolfie Pie!” We think the name fits since many of my recipes were born right here in my home in Mount Wolf and the folks in our local towns love them! I look forward to providing you with the best tasting whoopie pie you’ll ever have! They’ve been enjoyed by people as far away as Mexico, India, and France, so they really are world renowned!
