What a weekend! We completed about 15 cakes, and I couldn’t be more proud of what my team and I accomplished. 💕 This beautiful three-tier wedding cake is the last one of the weekend, and I’m officially DONE!
Now it’s time for a well-deserved massage, maybe a drink, and some much-needed rest.

To have our journey acknowledged on the floor of the United States House of Representatives is an honor that I never imagined when my daughter, Maisha Stokely, and I first opened our doors over a decade ago. What began as a dream has grown through faith, determination, countless early mornings, and the unwavering support of our customers and community.

While Captain McKennie and I were waiting for our lunch, we decided to take a walk through Hartley Park.
We ran into an amazing group from Intellectus Charter School in Mount Vernon. Their Director of Community Engagement was there with the children, handing out free ice pops as part of their summer park program. It was a simple gesture, but one that keeps kids active, engaged, and smiling throughout the summer. It was great spending a few moments with everyone, taking pictures, and letting the kids know I’ll be looking forward to seeing them again when school starts in September. I also introduced myself to them as being the Youth Detrctive for Mount Vernon Police Dept.
Thank you to Intellectus for investing in our youth and showing up for our community. It’s partnerships and moments like these that make a difference. 💙🚔🍧

Today while out patrolling I met an impressive young man named Alex. I noticed him outside selling lemonade. At first, I thought the woman with him was his mom, but it was his grandmother. After working all night, she was still outside in the heat supporting her grandson. That’s love, dedication, and family.. Alex is a senior at Mount Vernon High School with big dreams of becoming an engineer. He told me he’d rather spend his summer making honest money than being out in the streets. He’s also saving extra money before going away with his family in a few days. As we talked, I couldn’t help but smile. This is exactly the kind of young person our community should be celebrating.

One thing about me—I believe in supporting our youth and supporting local businesses. As the owner of Cupcake Cutie Boutique, I make it a priority to support businesses right here in Mount Vernon, and whenever I see young entrepreneurs like Alex out there working hard, I’ll gladly support them too.
