When we migrated here, I knew no English. I couldn’t relate to my classmates who were reading books or singing nursery rhymes.

When I became a mom, I made sure to read to the kids. We went to the library often. I read to them during meals at the table, on the couch, and especially at bedtime, when they would beg for more.

I kept track of their “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” journey, and I’m very positive we’ve surpassed that number.

Nowadays, it’s such a nice sight to see them pick up a book all on their own because they want to read.

Oh, the memories I had reading these books with the kids when they were younger.
From all the trips to the library, leaving with bags full of books, to the endless bedtime stories—I would do it all over again.

We just wrapped up my birthday celebration cookie classes for August!

I’m so proud to say that all three classes went well—keeping them small made them such a joy to host.
