Okay, we've change our focus some. I know this is the first post in some time, but it's become apparent that the margins on baked goods are too low to support an endeavor that doesn't already have crediibility. Therefore, we are entering the beverage business as MoJoBevCo! After that we will do frozen soups and chilis, and only then go for the gold !
Carbonating the first ever batch of MoJoBevCo's all-natural cream soda! I'm very excited about this development - the sky's the limit!
Cherry cream, watermelon mint, lemon-lime, root beer, sarsaparilla, birch beer, you name it - all made by steeping roots and berries in boiling water, adding simple syrup to the right brix, citric / malic acids to pH 4.2, and a little bit of shelf-stabilizers. Then carbonate and bottle !
And only .30 / bottle by the pallet; not bad. Look out, Jones Soda, MoJoBevCo is on your tail !!!
Ingredients of cream soda: Filtered water, partially inverted pure cane sugar, natural flavors, citric and malic acid, less than 1/10 % sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preserves freshness).
Okay, what is inverted sugar. Just sugar that's been subjected to a heat reaction to partially separate sucrose into glucose + fructose (aka simmering lol). That's what happens when you "caramelize" sugar.
