Wow, the heat really came back HOT! Y'all stay cool, drink lots of water. Just think, the cooler temps aren't too far off. Hope you all have a great Labor Day Weekend. Relax and enjoy.
Couple older pictures for fun. Sometimes I just look at pictures of cakes I've done and just think "WOW" that was a long time ago. I happened to find an old phone and charged it up and used my house wifi to let my grandson pull up kids videos. I have thousands of photos, hardcopy and digital, over my 50 years of decorating cakes, etc. Whenever I go back and look at them, I see how I'm never too old to try new tricks, keep moving forward. I find it even funnier to be part of so many cake groups on social media and see folks posting so called " new tricks", but I actually had learned these tricks 50 years ago. What goes around comes around, right? I never had a desire to get into those super time consuming decorated cakes, ones that take days, weeks to create, life size and life like. The market for those types of cakes is pretty slim, cause most people can't afford them. But I have, over the years, pushed my bounds to try new designs or techniques, and that is always fun.

Good afternoon everyone,,are you having a GREAT start to your week? I sure hope so. Thought it was going to cool down a bit last week, but then temps are right back up there this week. I'm looking forward to a long weekend, to just chill a bit. Been a busy few weeks, and now the real hustle and bustle will kick in next week.

Good evening folks, hope everyone is doing well. Little crisp in the air this morning, felt good. Busy week last week, lots going on. These photos pop up in my memories quite often. Really makes me miss being in my bakery. Even with still doing business from my home bakery, it's not the same hustle and bustle as having walk in customers coming in bright and early for doughnuts. I am truly blessed to have so many people love what we made. Thank you all so much for all these years of support.

Good morning everyone. Hope your week is going well. I want to wish Augusta County kids a GREAT FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. I pray protection and safety over all of you, parents, teachers, staff and KIDS! Have a great year, although I believe summer just flew by for you. However, the holidays are right around the corner, so that I like.

Good morning folks. I'm enjoying my cruise, weather has been beautiful and I've just been kinda laying around. But hey, I do feel like we all need some relaxation in our lives, and that's pretty non existent for bakers/chefs. Anyway, I will be back hard at it Thursday evening, so I will enjoy while I can. I only got 2 cruises in this year, unlike my 5 last year.
I did have a few cakes last week before I left, so pictures below. Also threw in a couple towel pets from our cruise room for last 2 days. Good afternoon folks. Hope you all had a great week. Just a little information, I am on a ship, fixing to sail to the Bahamas. Praying for great weather, no tropical storms ( lol, hope we missed any weather from the one in the Gulf). Anyway, leaving out of Jacksonville, my dad was stationed here in the Navy when I was a baby for 2 years, so I don't remember much. I do remember when we would come here to visit a Pastor friend and his family, how warm the water was and all the little lizards everywhere. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy your weekend, and next week. I will have internet, so if you need to get ahold of me, texting would probably be best. Same number, 540-828-3155, and I will respond when I can. Thank you all for your continued support and keeping me busy doing what I love. When you know what God made you for, you just know. I will post pictures from some of my cakes from last week tomorrow after everyone has had their parties. Meanwhile, here's one of the port in Jacksonville. I must say, I'm really liking these smaller ships.
