Good evening folks,,I hope everyone is GREAT!
Heads up for you all, tomorrow is National Doughnut Day. This is a day that is bittersweet for me. Let me tell you, it was definitely a huge undertaking for us to produce hundreds and hundreds of doughnuts just for that day. I usually didn't go home Thursday night, but worked thru to get doughs made and cut. My sister, Sheryl Snuffer Weiss , came it at like 10 p.m. to get ready to fry. My daughter's that worked there, Sarah Magdalene Hemric ( worked the front) and Katt VanLear ( worked in the back with me, baking and completing product) came in between 4-6 to fill and get the front set up, then start filling orders. Keep in mind on top of all this, we also were booked with other orders for cakes, breads, pies, cookies/decorated cookies, etc. cause there were still graduations, birthdays, weddings going on and then just stocking the front. You don't know the number of hours we put in to keep product cranking out of the back. I'm proud of all of my worker's cause "dedication" just doesn't seem to cover it enough. We also had 2 gals that came in at odd hours, Jenny Moye and Taylor Carpenter , to help just decorate cookies as my daughter Katt usually planned those and filled orders for them. Tedious work. Just be sure if you are stopping in a small, local doughnut shop to grab doughnuts, tell them all Thank You for making your day a little sweeter, cause it's definitely nice to hear and helps get you thru those 2 days with no sleep, lol. Enjoy your doughnuts, I miss you all coming to my shop and taking care of your sweet tooth. However, even though I am not doing doughnuts from my home shop, I thank you all for keeping me so busy with orders, I appreciate you.
If you need anything baked good wise, call 540-828-3155, I'm happy to take care of you.
Have a great upcoming weekend.
