It's the French Open Finals weekend! It's been a crazy two weeks and what could be better than celebrating the finals with a croissant or two?

Have a wonderful weekend. If you're watching the finals, enjoy. If you're not even remotely interested, the croissants are still really good and the weather suggests you should get outside.

Hello. So we're getting deep into Roland Garros and I'm trying to keep up. I have no idea who is going to pull this out with either the WTA or the ATP but I'm loving every moment.

With regard to the bakery, there's always something changing in the back and I'm looking forward to what is to come. Today marks a year since my first day selling at the Farmers Market and how things have changed. A genuine thank you to everyone that is showing up for me in Morton because I was unable to be in two places at once.

I love a brass band. Also, I made blueberry muffins. Why? Because I wanted to see what would happen if I used every form of blueberry in a single recipe! Well, almost every form. Is it the best blueberry muffin I've ever had? Yes. Yes it is.

It's Mother's Day weekend so I made extra stuff today. Hopefully the sun comes out because this foggy weather has been going on all night.

It's looking like a beautiful Saturday! If I weren't here baking pastry, is be on a hike or maybe a bike ride. Either way, it's a wonderful day to get outside.

I've got some liquor-soaked cherry scrolls and I made a dozen or so chocolate espresso scones. For fun.

Is that not the most ridiculous song ever? It's the weekend and it's going to be a nice one. I hope everyone is able to get out and enjoy the weather and maybe take some time to just be present and relax for a bit

I'm here if you need or want anything but you already know that. I'm also using butter for the pastries this weekend! Trust me, you want to try them. No one else is going to have this option.

The pistachio cream croissants are extra beautiful and the cardamom buns are begging to be eaten.

It's Easter! It's also the first day that I'm using my new roll-in cooler. I haven't even removed all the packaging. This helps with space and proofing, and generally makes my weekends easier.

I've also reformatted the cardamom buns because I am trying different things and had extra pans. Several people yesterday were not familiar with cardamom so I will provide a brief explanation: Green Cardamom (which I use) is known as "true" cardamom, these light green, smaller pods offer a mild, sweet, minty, and spicy flavor. And you can trust that because it's straight from the internet.

I encourage you to try a cardi b.

And remember, if you contribute to other people's happiness, you will find the true meaning of life.

First, I am open tomorrow. There were some questions about that and I just wanted to make it clear that I'm open on Easter.

Also, I'm trying a cheese danish topped with blueberries and a vanilla icing as well as a pistachio cream croissant. It's all in good fun and we'll see what stays, what goes and what changes over time.

I'm so glad to be back open so I hope to see everyone in the bakery!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been in the kitchen and getting back on track. While it was only one weekend, it feels like forever.

I will be open this Saturday and Sunday as usual and I'm bringing some cardamom rolls to the display rack.
