Time for an update!! We're working hard to be able to open back up. A little bit of drywall, some paint, and new floors and we will be good to go. We greatly miss seeing all of you, and can't wait to be back open again!

Long time, no update! There's not much to report - honestly, we thought that the people who the landlord hired would have done more work by now, but you know how it is when insurance payments and construction companies are involved. We're still getting paid thanks to our insurance and we will be until March, thank the gods old and new. In order to deal with our boredom, we've been going into the bakery to do the things that we can accomplish without being professionals, e.g., repairing cracks in the drywall, cleaning, and making room for the next batch of workers to come in. Sadly, it doesn't look like there's an opening date any time this year and I'm sorry for that, but I'm at a loss for what I can do to make it go any faster. Thank you to everyone for checking in periodically, I understand that it's been frustrating for you but it's been much worse for us. The next step is getting a drywall crew in to work on the ceilings and walls that were damaged as a result of the fire and I hope to put some progress pics up by the end of the month. Went through the bakery with the landlord and the gentlemen from restoration services yesterday to check out the progress that’s being made. No set date has been made, but the head of the restoration company said once some companies start bidding on the project it won’t take long to get things back to working order. We’re hoping this means we can get back to serving bread and pizzas to our beloved community by the time WVU Fall Semester starts up. Thanks for all your support throughout all of this and we hope to have updates more often as more work happens!

Hello bakery fans! We don't have any updates in terms of a reopen date, but I just wanted reassure you all that we will be back!!

At some point in the near future we hope to have some pop up outdoor mini markets in our parking lot, we gotta do something to keep our skills sharp! So, look out for that!

I also want to give a VERY sincere thank you to everyone for supporting us over the last decade. There's no way we would be in the position to survive a catastrophe like this without the continued patronage from all of you.

We can't wait to get back at it, because we miss eating our bread just as much as you do!!

Phoenix Bakery Update: Many of you already know that there was a fire in the apartment above the bakery last night. Everyone (pets, too) got out safely and the Morgantown Fire Department was able to get it out while before it could spread downstairs. The water used to put the fire out, however, had to go somewhere and that was through the ceiling of Phoenix. Today we met with Code Enforcement and our landlord to figure out how we’re going to move forward. It looks like we’ll be able to reopen once the wiring has been replaced and any water damage taken care of. A reasonable estimate for a reopening date will be at least eight weeks from now. That’s hard for all of us because there’s nothing Scone Daddy and the gang like more than a sandwich made with ingredients from the pizza cooler and being obnoxious with each other at 7am. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on us or to offer help in this very trying time, I’ll be posting updates as things progress so be on the look out. We know that the community needs us to open back up so that we can get good bread back on your tables! Saturday is here and I think everybody is ready for the weekend!

Scones: cheddar bacon or raspberry

Cookies: chocolate chip, double chocolate oatmeal, molasses, orange sugar

Biscotti: almond, orange cranberry, peanut butter chocolate chip, trail mix

Soup: vegan vegetable

Breads: baguettes, ciabatta, cranberry walnut, honey wheat, Italian, multigrain & blue cheese multigrain, olive rosemary, sourdough, spinach feta stuffed ciabatta, and pepperoni mozzarella stuffed ciabatta

Of course we'll have pepperoni rolls, cinnamon rolls, danish, croissant & pain au chocolat, coffee, and other great stuff while supplies last and then at 3pm we'll start making pizza. We're open from 7am - 9pm and we're excited to see you, so come on down to 89 Kingwood St, Morgantown, WV, and have a wild & wonderful weekend!

Breads: baguettes, buckwheat pear, challah, ciabatta, cranberry walnut, Italian, Japanese milk bread, multigrain & blue cheese multigrain, seeded onion rye, sourdough, and three cheese garlic stuffed ciabatta

Of course we'll have pepperoni rolls, cinnamon rolls, danish, croissant & pain au chocolat, coffee, and other great stuff while supplies last and then at 3pm we'll start making pizza. Check out the weekend pizza special, the Pizza Allium! It's lovingly made with a shallot/onion/garlic cream sauce (thems your alliums), mozzarella, ricotta, bacon, roasted brussels sprouts, and a drizzle of hot honey!!
