šWellā¦thereās a rumor going around thatās finally true!
Brooklyn Belle Market will be listed for sale very soon. š
Before anything else, I want everyone to know we are absolutely remaining OPEN and operating just as we always have until the perfect new owner comes along. Breakfast, lunch, gas, snacks, all the things youāre used to, none of that is changing anytime soon.
Over the past few months weāve also been diligently working on improvements to the living quarters upstairs. After the water pipe burst this winter, weāve spent a lot of time making the necessary repairs (and Lord knows weāve touched just about every square inch of this building).
During that process we also turned one of the apartments into an Airbnb rental, and honestly⦠look how stinking cute this little place turned out! Whether youāre coming into town to hike the Sheltowee trails, spending the weekend riding at 1806, or just visiting family and wanting your own space, itās a perfect little spot to stay, grab a hot shower and rest your head! If you know someone coming to town to explore the area, feel free to send them our way.
There is truly so much opportunity here. Between the gas station, diner, convenience store, gift shop/vendor space, upstairs living quarters, and Airbnb potential, there are already multiple established income streams. There is also a huge area in the back of the property that I had planned and executed a bar area, community gathering space, additional businesses, or whatever vision the next owner brings to it.
ā¤ļøI want to say how incredibly grateful I am that we even made it through this winter. It was one of the toughest seasons weāve faced, and without the support of my family and this community, we truly wouldnāt have made it here.
This has been an extremely hard decision. For anyone who has ever owned a business, you know itās never just āa business.ā But for me, itās been even more than that. This place wasnāt something I just took a gamble on, itās a place I grew up around, worked in and always dreamed of turning into something special for this community.
But the truth is⦠Iām exhausted. My family is exhausted. Itās been one hit after another. Add in some health issues have really put a spotlight on what matters most in life and you just have to make the tough call to let someone else see out your dreams, knowing you gave it all you had to give.
Iām a mom to two very active kids, and anyone who has owned a small business knows itās a tough balance. It means being tied to your phone, worrying day to day, and sometimes missing moments you really want to be part of.
For Brooklyn Belle to grow into everything it has the potential to be, it will take someone who can pour even more time, energy, and focus into it than Iāve been able to give at this stage of life. The opportunity here is truly huge for the right person.
What I can say with pride is that Iāve worked incredibly hard to fix and improve almost everything here so it can truly be turn-key for someone else. My hope is that the next owner can keep the dream alive and continue giving Cranston even more than I have been able to provide.
This place has meant the world to me, and I will always be proud of what we built here together.
And until that day comes⦠weāll keep the coffee hot, the grill going, and the doors open.
Cranston will always have a piece of my heart and HUGE thank you to everyone who has had a hand in helping keep this place going, itās an incredibly long list of some amazing humans!
