I haven’t made a cake for anyone since August. I have a lot of cakes I still haven’t posted here. My kids birthdays came along this fall and I BOUGHT cupcakes. That wasn’t the plan.. but that was kind of the theme of 2023. I kept meaning to make an announcement- but we had so much crazy going on.. I mean- I BOUGHT cupcakes!🤪
So here is every announcement all rolled into one
We were super surprised to find out our completed family wasn’t as complete as we thought! My pregnancy was a major roller coaster from the very start and ended with some enormous loops and a very scary turn that put our world on its head there for a while…. But we are soooo grateful. So in love. And became so very complete when our sweet Trace Ryan was born on October 12.
I started baking in 2019. I was new to being a stay at home Mom and I was a little bored. I made a birthday cake for my dad and thought, “I could do better…” and I set out to do better again and again. My little hobby turned into an unexpected, but welcomed ability to work from home and it blessed me and my family for years!
But the thing is— I’m not bored anymore. I have 5 kids now.. and we started homeschooling a few years ago. Cakes went from a way to fill some extra time to filling in every second of extra free time I could find in the day. I wrestled with what to do. I miss being creative, learning, growing, and being challenged by your orders! I look forward to getting back into the kitchen… but right now, my time and attention is needed in the lives of the little people God has given me. “The days are long, but the years are short.” I will be back.. I’m just not quite sure when that will be or exactly what it will look like. Maybe it will be when the school year is over or maybe it’ll be this time next year.. maybe I’ll start doing small orders here and there when my littlest starts taking better naps apart from me? I’m figuring it out one day at a time and I promise I will let you all know just as soon as I think I’m ready to take it on again!
In the meantime.. maybe I’ll find time to finally get caught up on posting all of the cakes that I did in 2023! 🙂
