URINETOWN
Directed by Adrian Lee Bush

About the Story--
In a drought-stricken town where private toilets are outlawed and even a trip to the bathroom costs a fee, the greedy Urine Good Company controls every last drop. When an idealistic young sanitation worker falls for the boss's daughter and leads a scrappy rebellion against the powers that be, the town discovers that doing the right thing and having a happy ending aren't always the same thing. A gleefully irreverent, Tony Award-winning satire that skewers capitalism, bureaucracy, and musical theater itself – while asking hard questions about sustainability, power, and who really pays the price.

"A sensational piece of performance art, one that acknowledges theater tradition and pushes it forward as well." — Bruce Weber, The New York Times

"For anarchic, first-rate comic relief, get thee to Urinetown." — David Cote, Time Out
"A zesty and full-bodied original." — Bruce Weber, The New York Times

"It contains a streak of modern sarcasm and political commentary that helps explain why Urinetown has aged so remarkably well." — Elisabeth Vincentelli, reviewing the New York City Center revival for The New York Times
