What's on my mind?

Well, as depressing as it is to continue talking about the DROUGHT.... here's another drought awareness post, but also a tale of God's Providence.

Hives in Nebraska would need to be fed so they don't starve to death this year.

That's why these hives aren't in Nebraska.

Yes, I care about taking bees to our landowners who want them. Yes, I care about maintaining these relationships. Yes, I would prefer Manuel to be here instead of traveling to care for bees. Yes, I love to distribute landowner honey in Nebraska to all of our neighbors!

But those things don't keep bees alive. Flowers keep bees alive, flowers with nectar in them, which comes from ground moisture.

At the end of the day, bees are livestock. Bugs, yes, but also livestock. And if they can't eat, they die, or they eat your yearly budget to barely survive.

This particular load is in California. And the best news we've had all year is that they're bringing nectar on the buckwheat.

"Shake" is what we call fresh nectar placed in the frames before the bees dry it out and cure it into honey. This is all Shake from a single day. A single morning actually, around 10am.

Praise be to God for His glorious creation. Even in the tough times, He provides.

We continue to pray for Nebraska farmers and ranchers that don't have the ability to move to greener pastures.

Happy Sunday.

Ok ya wanna know the other reason I haven't been able to open pre-orders up?
Manuel has been gone and I've been living these equipment nightmares since last week 😂

Usually, while I am a mostly capable human, we have an unspoken agreement that Manuel runs the machinery and I do nothing more than place labels, talk to customers, and complain when the machinery breakdown. These roles are very important to me and its a very symbiotic system. (Bless his heart for marrying me.) I have allowed this role to permeate my brain matter and make me believe I would never run this equipment again 🥴

Then, this week started.

My brain matter of late has been overwhelmed with honey clogs, taking apart the hydraulic filler like a very high risk puzzle, and diagnosing the forklift's perceived cough (if a cough sounded like a box of antique dinner plates being shaken in a paint Shaker, why does FrankenForks sound like that? He's still running though, get well soon is the best I got) and honorary mention: backing up the trailer *not pictured for reasons of embarrassment*

ANYWAY, the reason that symbiotic system has been disrupted is due to the fact that he had to return to California to deal with the bees (more on that later, because I know you're all dying to know everything).

Furthermore, Due to big goofs and equipment operating errors on my part, we are running very, very low on Clover honey. If you want a gallon, I suggest you high tail it to High Plains Market before they sell out. I will make a post specifically on this later, but my feelings are a little hurt over it still, so maybe tomorrow.

You've been warned.

See you in Gering tomorrow (6-5) at the Spring Into Summer Craft Fair!

I know, I know, I know! I'm SORRY I haven't opened up website pre-orders yet! I have had a huge increase in large orders (like this one pictured).

The goal with these large retail orders is to make honey available in more places, for more hours, thus being more accesible to you all!

Due to working with many large wholesale orders, we have been late opening up directly to customers.

We thank you for your patience in this matter!

For now, find our products in these locations:
High Plains Market
Chapman Family Farms & Dairy
Memaw's Barnyard Eats
Cornerstone Coffee
Moore Produce (temporarily sold out)

AND MORE ANNOUNCING SOON.
