🌺 Throwback Tuesday 🌺

Ten years ago. Three kitchens ago. One very ambitious graduation cake. 😂

Back then I thought, "You know what this cake needs? More flowers."

And then I added more flowers.

Looking at this cake now makes me smile because it reminds me how far I've come. Every decorator starts somewhere, and this little tropical island was one of my first big cake projects.

The skills have improved, the techniques have changed, and thankfully my photography has gotten better too. 🤣

But one thing hasn't changed: I still pour my heart into every order.

One of my favorite parts of baking happens long before the dough is ever mixed.

Today was cinnamon, star anise, and pecan roasting day. ✨

The pecans are toasted to bring out their rich, buttery flavor. The cinnamon sticks and star anise are gently toasted before being ground fresh and brewed into tea for my Pan de Polvo.

It's one of those little details most people never see, but it's part of what makes homemade baking so special.

"God walks among the pots and pans."

I think that's especially true on days like this. The simple, quiet work of preparing ingredients reminds me that good things are often built one small step at a time.

Do you offer sugar-free or gluten-free desserts?

Nope. 😅

I believe in butter. I believe in sugar. I believe that desserts should occasionally make you close your eyes and say, "Lord, have mercy."

My kitchen is not equipped to safely accommodate sugar-free or gluten-free baking, so I don't currently offer those options.

But if you're looking for a homemade treat made from scratch, I've got you covered. ❤️

A little behind-the-scenes honesty from your neighborhood baker. 💛

Today is monthly infusion day. These treatments are part of how I manage lupus and keep my body going so I can continue doing what I love — baking fresh treats for your families, praying over each order, and building Risen Flour one recipe at a time.

Over the next couple of days, I may be a little quieter than usual or slower to respond while my body rests and recovers. Messages and orders will still be answered — just with a little extra loading time. 😊

I’m incredibly grateful that God continues giving me the strength, ability, and support to keep showing up for this little dream of mine, even on the harder days.
