I spent my last day of 2022 working on this cake. Small, simple, and made with lots of love for my baby cousin who asked his beautiful girlfriend to marry him on New Years Eve. I had a custom cake topper made for this cake that I dropped, and it shattered. Instead of freaking out, I came up with a solution that ended up working just fine. The shattered cake topper perfectly summed up 2022 for me. I learned to pick up the pieces and make something beautiful out of them—or that sometimes I just have to change my perspective to see the beauty already there.

I wish you all a magical 2023. May it treat you kindly and show you all the beauty life has to offer.
