Glad Midsommar from Minot! I hope you are setting something huge on fire with your community this weekend like I did! I love that they don't just set it on fire, they set it on FIRE.
Seeing a (safe) raging fire like this on a night when the sun sets past 10:00 pm is so cathartic, you can feel it in your bones. It's a very cool way to set a fresh start to the second half of the year.
Scandinavian Heritage Park also had a family of visiting Norwegian forest kittens, the only thing more entertaining than a bonfire. These cats have the chillest personalities and get massive when fully grown. When I retire from Sundbakes someday, the first thing I'm going to do is get a fluffy cat just like these. I can't have any shedding pets right now, but someday my house will be filled with them! I think they put the cage around the cats not to keep them in, but to keep us from grabbing them in a trance and running away.
This has been a busy week for macaron cakes. Macaron cakes get extra popular in the summer time because they are so perfect for little mid-week celebrations between trips to the lake. They are so cute and delicious!
By happenstance, my newest album is from a Swedish duo that I love. If you've been enjoying Noah Kahan lately, check out First Aid Kit. They've got an indi-folk sound that fits perfectly on playlists with Stick Season.
Time moves too quickly! This has already been one of the funnest summers of my life, and it's only just beginning. We are trying really hard to save money right now, so we are opting for free events and activities whenever possible. Minot is full of them, we are so fortunate.
I'm excited for all of your fun orders coming up! July and August are filling fast, but I still have good availability for September. Be careful though, those dates tend to fill quickly once we are on the other end of the 4th of July. Magically, on July 5th everyone will realize they need a September cake at the same moment. Be sure you are one of the first!
With heart,
Elizabeth
