If it is cold enough to really warrant pogies and a coozie where you're located, know that I have some of each ready to go in a couple colors. Other colors, provided I have the color fabric on hand, typically can be ready to go in a couple days.

If you're local to the twin cities, pickup in Crystal is an option too -- about a 10 minute drive from the Theo Wirth trailhead. If you want to pickup, message me before ordering.

Well, that was a mistake. :(

Attention canoers - I have a few canoe seat bags that could use homes.

The key difference is these have a handle, and widely spaced straps so in don't end up sitting on the buckles. Similar in size and function to any other seat bags out there, but spent the past few years dialing in the details to my liking.

The carry handle is nice for when you're on your seventh portage of the day, exhausted and the 50lbs pack on your back threatens to tip you over. Plus the handle is a different, high visibility, color to help see it as you pick up your nonsense at the portage start. Unless there is a will balanced bag in the bow and the stern, you'll want to remove these from the canoe for portaging.

HDPE plastic sheet in the bottom to maintain shape and it is removable to use as a cutting board or fan a stubborn fire.

Sized to fit my fishing gear, snacks and rain pants. AKA: 19.5 x 8.5 x 3.5. Material is black pack cloth; 400D maybe.

Easy on/off with two side release buckles. Know that I only actually attach this to the seat when it is raining.

TL;DR - canoe seat bag with handle needs home.

Remember traveling? Yeah. Me too. In late 2019 and early 2020, I was traveling a lot and putting in long, long days. At night, being exhausted, I'd end up setting items down and could never find them. Almost daily is misplace something.

So.... Flat pack valet! For keys, wallet, phone, and all the other small goodies I'd search for in the morning. Corners are snapped together so this can unsnapped and it is only at thick as a snap.

Most of these tend to be leather. However, I went with blaze orange packcloth inside, and XPac outside, because, well, XPac is awesome, though here it seems extraneous.

Here's to hoping to traveling again soon, that exhaustion is from long days off skiing or biking, and to not muttering, "where the heck did I put the room key!?!?"

If you would have told me 20 years ago that I'd be in my basement on a Friday night sewing reusable grocery bags I cannot imagine what my reaction would have been. It surely would not have been "yeah, that seems about right" though.

Found a backpack kit from Sailrite tucked away in a corner of the shop a couple weeks ago. Completely forgot I had it. Put it together over a few evenings. Well put together kit with an excellent instructional video on their Youtube page.

For the money, you aren't going to get a great, feature rich bag but you will get something you made though. However, it is a great skill / confidence builder for sure for a new sew-er. If you simply need a basic backpack, go to any store with backpacks and you can likely get something better for less money. But, better, quicker and cheaper are seldom the motivation for Diy sewing projects.

A standard home sewing machine will likely struggle in a couple areas due to the number of layers to go through. Specifically the strap attachment points where it is 6 layers of 1000D cordura plus foam plus webbing. I'm guessing their duffle bag kit would be more appropriate for a standard home sewing machine.

Minneapolis area people that have pogies I made. If they don't have draft collars and you would like draft collars added. Bring them over and I'll put them on for you; no charge.

I've been riding a set of shorties with collars for the past few winters and they are the only setup of I've used.

Why draft collars you ask. When closed up a bit, they'll be a bit warmer as they'll keep more warmth from your hands inside where you want it and not escaping out into the world. Also when it is snowing it helps keep the snow out, especially when you're stopped.

Hey! I'm still here! And sewing! And have a couple pairs of pogies stocked up. And a bunch of coozies. And might even get out for a ride this weekend!

And also been making some canoe seat bags and other secret-ish stuff.

Once it gets cold again, know that there a bunch of coozies ready to go to help keep your water from freezing.
