Remember the game good news/bad news? It's the game nobody wins at😂 Well, here it is.

We will not be ready to open on September 12th as previously stated. The inspection schedule is a little late and we can't start making any food until it happens.

I know it was tentative, but we couldn't help but think it was set in stone. Reality is not either of our strong suits.

So that's the bad news. What's the good news, you may be asking.

The good news is that we will eventually open. The good news is that we are motivated and so so so ready to bake! The good news is that the season will be more defined and therefore so shall be my flavors. The good news is that some of the things that we didn't plan on having ready for open will now be ready(hello paint).

That being said, don't plan on a sign still😆 it's in the works from a lovely friend who is taking the time she needs and adorning our spot with more real artistry.

And check out handyman Max, adding more color to the future counter. That's always good news!

So here's the deal, we are setting a new date. It will be our new plan, our new goal, our new everything. BUT, you know I could be right back here having to devastate myself in a rambling post again soon. Let's not plan on that though. Finish out the State Fair strong, get those kids back to school, maintain however you do for you and we will see you on the other side!!

Did you know that when we had our logo painted on our little spot in Longfellow, it was done by a friend and she did it free hand, with a paint roller?!! is an amazing artist and has been behind quite a few of the city murals you've probably seen on a bike, bus, car or scooter ride.

I didn't think we had a picture of this memory, but going all the way back to the beginning, there it was!

Now that we have a physical sign in the works at the new place, it's pointing out something that is truly on brand for us: we're not always ready on time.

When it came down to opening with everything in place vs just getting open and sweating the details later, this was a no-brainer. We will not have our sign finished by our projected open date, but I found the little swing door that used to be mounted on the side of the bakery case and wall, until it got super annoying and we took it off. I wood burnt our logo on it back in the day, which is now faded. So I'm giving her a super cheap refresh and she shall be our makeshift sign so you'll know where you're walking into😂

This week's update is that there really isn't much to update🙆‍♀️

Found our coming soon sign from 10 years ago and it's getting a reboot. Since people are starting to venture over and look at the new location, we now have a marker so you know you're at the right spot.

As we've previously mentioned to a lot of you, our plan is an opening on or around September 12th. This is still the plan, but you know how it goes, plans can change when they need to. I am already more than ready to bake or just make a huge kettle of soup. It's been hard for me to be out of the kitchen so trust me, when we get the green light, it's on!!

The construction portion of our project is mostly done and inspections are happening. All going well! Next will be a lot of the more visible aspects and we have some really fun plans. I'm hoping for an increase in pictures of our process as we get the more eye catching elements in place. Stay tuned!

These last days have prompted us to reflect on everything we've been through in this space and there has been a lot!

While it feels like we have connected to so many people, in actuality the community chose to connect with us. We don't take any of our support for granted and feel lucky that after 10 years, we still want more and will be allowed to do more.

Rather than looking at this transition as leaving one community to start in another, we are expanding our community to reach further. It's understandable that when some people can no longer walk down the street to see us, our perception might not land the same.

While we can't be everywhere, we're beyond grateful to those who want us around. Our new location is considered our final space. We will be living above the bake house and are excited for increased workspace, storage and controlled temperatures. Ideally this means we can provide more, while also taking care of ourselves.

Now that our Longfellow location is closed, we can unveil our new address without confusion. If you're curious, you can take a drive or ride🚲 over. This location is not open yet and we will make updates as we get closer. This is also our residence so please be respectful of our home space and stay in the front area. Construction is pretty much done but there's still a lot to do. Watch for fun pics and videos!

I can't believe it's our last day. It felt far off for so long and it's now time to shut our doors😭 but of course not before one more crazy run of everything you could want on a Sunday.

The menu is less options than Saturday but we made bigger batches of some things, including cinnamon rolls and polish rolls!
