Hey Friends,
We have some unfortunate news to share with you. Friday September 30, 2022 will be the last day of service in our Downtown Midland cafe.
9 months ago I was presented with an opportunity that was too good to pass up at the time. As most entrepreneurs would, I jumped first then decided to look after. This strategy has worked in the past and it's also failed in the past.
I failed.
It's important to note that our staff and crew that did the work every day in our buildout and while we were operating this past 6 months have been amazing and worked their tails off and I'm grateful for them. Special shoutout to my wife for designing and creating the space in a short turnaround.
All of the current staff has a clear path moving forward and are not without work.
This is an important lesson for myself to learn. Even after being in business for 12 years, you will make mistakes. A younger version of myself would have probably tried to scrape another 6 months before throwing in the towel but now that I'm old and tattered a little bit, the writing is on the wall and I'd rather preserve what little goodwill this space still has.
We are keeping everything in tact for now and would love to work with a company or individual interested in buying the assets in the space and keep the coffee flowing.
We believe that with the right heart and amount of attention, this is a great opportunity.
Our heart is in Bay City and that is where we will focus all of our energy moving forward. It's hard to love more than one place as much as we love our city and we think if someone has that same passion for Midland, they could turn this into a gem.
