Time for a quick check in...
Last night my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner Clyborne's in Mason.
We started with their meatballs, then he had the special fish and chips while I had their lettuce wedge and of course we had to end with the famous donut holes!
It was a rough night for the staff and they had a few hiccups, but our server Halle was amazing and the manager was very gracious and came to apologize to us. The service industry is a very stressful one but we were very impressed with how things were handled.

Who’s missing our Banana Bread? Who’s waiting on an update on what’s happening with the cookbook?
I spent all of January taking a break and doing some traveling. It was a much needed break, but I’m back and ready to get to work on the cookbook and whatever life brings me next.
What recipe are you hoping will be in the cookbook???

Today I went to the most allergy friendly restaurant I’ve ever been to...Burtons Grill & Bar of Charlotte - Park Road. I ordered my food (this wonderful Beet Salad) and my server asked me if there was an allergy. After spending a few minutes talking with him, I learned that that question is asked of every customer who comes in! I was so impressed with the care they take. They also have separate cooking utensils, dedicated fryers and grills. If you are ever in a city with one of their locations...GO! You won’t regret it!!!

I took a little drive outside of downtown Charlotte today to check out The Southern Olive ...this is the cutest little store which started as an olive oil and vinegar shop. They now carry a lot more including a variety of gluten free baked goods made in house. They are a dedicated facility which is always preferred!
I picked up some Keto cookies and a strawberry cheesecake (of course I already had some of that one 😋). I picked up something for my husband too, but I’ll have to tell you about those another day... I don’t want to spoil the surprise.
Whenever you’re near Charlotte, go check them out and support this great small business!!! 💕

One of mine is coffee...so thankful to Twisted River Coffee Roaster LLC for creating these amazing single serve pour overs!!!
Although most of my time this week will be spent in a wonderful apartment overlooking downtown Charlotte (COVID19 and all), I’m also going to be checking out the local businesses around here and share my favorites with all of you!

Happy New Year!!! I’m sorry I’ve been negligent on posting...I’ve been finishing up baking commitments, spending a little extra time with family and just taking care of personal responsibilities.
I’m going to be spending the next few weeks relaxing, traveling and planning for upcoming endeavors. I will share with all of you through this process and at times ask for your opinions.
2021 is a new chapter for us all...let’s make it the best we can, even during a pandemic!

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!
I’m thankful for each and every one of you!!!
We are officially closed as of 5:00 yesterday. We went out with a bang this week...record number of orders in our 10 years and not a single problem with pick ups or deliveries.
I’m taking the weekend off to relax then I’ll be back on Monday to post a little more info for everyone on what’s next for me.
