We’ve had SO much rain lately, and honestly, the garden has taken quite a beating. Parts of it are completely waterlogged, some plants didn’t make it, and I’ve had to say goodbye to more than I’d like.
But then there’s the other half of the garden.
The little stubborn things that are still standing and trying to grow 🌻 🐛🍄🧚🏼♀️🌱
After everything they’ve been through, I find myself appreciating them so much more. They’re not perfect. They’re a little battered, a little muddy, and definitely looking like they’ve had a rough summer… but they’re still here.
And maybe that’s my favorite part of gardening. You don’t always get the garden you planned. Sometimes nature completely rewrites the story. All you can do is care for what remains, celebrate every new bloom and tiny fruit, and be grateful for the plants that keep trying.
So here’s to the survivors.
The soggy tomatoes. The determined cucumbers. The flowers that refused to quit 🍅🥒🍐🍆🍓🍎🥔🍉🌽
You’re doing just fine, my little Gnomestead garden🍄 💚
