It’s been an AMAZING day. 🥹🥰

We are really, really enjoying these slower starts to our mornings this week — soaking in the Son with the kids, spending time together, and just letting ourselves slow down for a minute. ❤️

Today we hit up our FAVORITE thrift store and y’all… we scored BIG. 🙌😂

And THEN our day came with a pretty incredible surprise… we got to see a brand-new baby calf! 🐮🥹❤️

We didn’t actually get to witness the birth, but we got there probably only 30 minutes to an hour afterward. This sweet little calf was brand new to the world, mama was taking care of business — including eating her placenta because, well… FARM LIFE. 😂🤷‍♀️ — and the kids got to see something they definitely don’t see every day!

Talk about a cool memory to add to this trip. 🥹

After that, we spent some time soaking up the actual sun poolside. ☀️🏊‍♀️ It has been absolutely beautiful today!

And now… we’re totally splurging and having ICE CREAM BEFORE DINNER. 😂🍦 Because it’s vacation, right?!

And mannnn… Cool Spot is GOOD! They’re making their ice cream in-house and it is SO yummy. 🤤

Now we’re heading back, possibly jumping in the pool again, enjoying dinner made by Michael (because apparently even on vacation I’m still finding a way to get the chef to cook 😉😂), and soaking up even more time with our family.

Apparently we’re all a little EGGS-HAUSTED this morning. 😂🍳

When you’re at the bakery in your PJs, tennis shoes, drinking out of a measuring cup… you know it’s been a WEEK. 😂❤️

But we’re HERE, we’re OPEN, and we’ve got FRESH DONUTS! 🍩🙌

After today, we’ll be CLOSED August 16–24 and reopen Tuesday, August 25.

And we are SO excited because our family from Florida arrives TODAY! 🥳❤️ My grandparents are coming, and we haven’t seen them in three years. We’re going to miss our bakery family next week, but we are incredibly grateful for a week to spend time together, make memories, and soak up having them here.

But before vacation officially begins… WE HAVE TONIGHT! ❤️🙌

🌧️ YES — WE ARE OPEN! 🌧️

We know the weather and flooding conditions have caused some local businesses and places to close today, and we completely understand. Please be safe if you’re out and about! ❤️

But as for us — WE ARE OPEN UNTIL 7 PM!

And y’all… I need your help. 😂

Michael is running on VERY little sleep after being with me in Parkersburg last night, working night shift, getting a short nap, and then coming into the bakery today. 😴😂

And we are officially at the point where he is finding random things to do just to keep himself awake.

Exhibit A: He is currently outside POWER WASHING THE HOOD VENTS from over the griddle and fryer. 🤣

I mean… I appreciate the productivity. 😂 But watching him continually find another project because he knows if he sits down, it might be GAME OVER has been pretty comical.

So COME PUT THIS MAN TO WORK! 😂

🍔 Order some food.
🍟 Make him fire up the fryer.
🥓 Give him something to cook.
👋 Or just stop in and give him somebody to talk to!

Help me keep Michael awake, alert, and BUSY until 7 PM! 🤣

Well… ready might be a strong word. 😂 Y’all, he’s a little sleepy today! After a long day yesterday, he still made sure he was there last night to support me AND play music for the ministry event—and today we need YOUR help keeping this man awake, alert, and BUSY! 😂

So come on in, grab some lunch or dinner, and PUT MICHAEL TO WORK! 🍔🍟🌭 The busier you keep him, the less chance he has of falling asleep on us. 🤣

First of all… to every single person who has walked through our doors this morning looking for a donut, realized there weren’t any, and happily pivoted to something else…

YOU GUYS ARE THE REAL MVPs. 😂🙌

Seriously. Thank you.

Thank you for understanding that sometimes owning a small business means looking at what makes sense, what doesn’t, and being willing to pivot—even when that means doing things a little differently than we normally would. We appreciate you guys more than you know. ❤️

But I also want to share a little more about why we’re closing at 2 PM today.

Tonight, I have the incredible honor and privilege of speaking at Living Testimonies at The ROCK Parkersburg.

Living Testimonies is a beautiful ministry that meets every Thursday evening, and I have so much love and appreciation for the couple who has followed the Lord in putting this together and creating a place where people can come, eat together, hear what the Lord has done in someone’s life, and encounter for themselves what He can do.

And tonight… I get to share my testimony.

I get to stand up and tell people what the Lord has done in my life.

And I don’t take that lightly.

It is a massive honor and privilege to have the opportunity to share my testimony—not because my story is about me, but because my story is evidence of what HE can do. 🙌

So, Meigs County friends… I know Parkersburg is a little bit of a drive.

But can I personally invite you tonight?

If you’ve had this stirring inside of you lately…

“There has to be more than this.”

If something in you is saying, Maybe I need to go tonight…

GO.

Don’t talk yourself out of it.

🍩 A little donut update for this Thursday morning! 🍩

Earlier this week, we shared that whether or not we made donuts today would depend on preorders.

Our donut dough is made from scratch every morning, and it’s a whole process from mixing the dough to getting those fresh donuts into the case. We didn’t receive any donut preorders for today, and with us also closing early at 2 PM, we made the decision not to make a batch today.

And you know what? This is part of owning a small business. 💜

Sometimes you have to pay attention to what’s selling, what isn’t, what’s costing more to produce than it’s bringing in, and where your time and resources are best spent. Making something just because we’ve always made it doesn’t necessarily mean it makes good business sense every single day.

We’re learning. We’re adjusting. And we’re trying to be good stewards of this little bakery while continuing to serve our bakery family well. 🫶

BUTTTT… tomorrow is a different story! 👀🍩

FRIDAY we WILL have:

🍩 Fresh donuts
🍎 Apple fritters
🙌 And plenty of other fresh-from-the-bakery goodness!
