We want to thank everyone for all the orders we received this week we have been so busy but so grateful! We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial weekend. We had a few moments this week to try our hand at homemade fudge and we are excited to announce that we will be offering that to order start next week! Exciting news, we are bringing the state to us. The Ohio Attorney General's Office will be hosting their Ohio Sunshine Law training for the state, here at The Blakeslee Center!

Buckeye Hills Regional Council has worked with the Ohio Attorney General's Office to bring their Sunshine Laws Training to Southeast Ohio! On September 28, the OAG staff will host a 2023 Sunshine Laws Training for local elected officials at The Blakeslee Center in Middleport. A Catering Business that Gives Back

Close to Home Catering, Bakery and Café is a social enterprise endeavor that helps to support the senior nutrition programs (Meals on Wheels & Senior Center Lunch) provided by the Meigs Council on Aging - Senior Center. All proceeds from our catering, bakery and café enterprise are used for those services.

This endeavor began during the recession as a necessity and started with holiday baking and within 2 years we had expanded our offerings to year round. The success of the catering and bakery has enabled us to not have a waiting list for our senior nutrition program.

Proceeds from Close to Home and our fundraising have funded a new Short Term Home Delivered Meal program for any Meigs County adult over the age of 60 who is being discharged from the hospital. Under this program we provide 5 home delivered meals at no cost to the recipient.
