This one was SO much fun to create. 🇮🇹🤍

A traditional Italian millefoglie wedding cake—layers of crisp pastry and delicious pastry cream, assembled right at the venue and finished with what felt like a million little hand-piped dollops and piles of fresh berries.

I love getting to create something a little different, and watching this one come together was pretty special.

Wedding tradition I think we should retire…

Saving the top tier for your 1st anniversary.

Because who wants year-old cake?!
And who has the freezer space?!

Fun fact:

That’s not even what the tradition was originally for…

The top tier was saved for the christening of the couple’s first baby. Which at the time, typically occurred within 6-9 months after the wedding.

I vote we make a new tradition.

Eat the cake while it’s fresh!

Date night + your wedding film
Post-wedding brunch
Your first Christmas
Your first month anniversary
Your first dinner party as newlyweds
Or…eat every last bite at the wedding.

I’m so grateful to Lifestyles Magazine for featuring Purple Cow Cakery and sharing a little of my story. Looking back at where this journey began makes me appreciate just how many wonderful people have been part of it.

To every couple who trusted me with your wedding day, every family who celebrated life’s sweetest moments with one of my cakes and everyone who’s supported, encouraged, and cheered me on along the way… thank you.

Some weddings stay with you long after the last slice of cake is served… and this was one of them.

It was such a privilege to be part of this incredible wedding at The Plaza Hotel in NYC alongside the amazingly talented Louis Avanti and an exceptional team of creatives. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, every space felt magical, and the entire day was pure elegance from beginning to end.

Creating the wedding cake for such a beautiful celebration was an honor. Congratulations to the wonderful couple, and thank you for trusting all of us to be part of such an unforgettable day. 🤍
