It is with much sadness that I sit here and write this post. After much consideration, I have decided to close the bakery. I cannot begin to describe what a blessing the last three years have been. This has been a dream I never thought I would see come true. I have been in this business for 20 years, it’s all I know, it is what I love. But, with as great as these last few years have been, it has also been a struggle. Just before COVID hit, I was almost where I needed to be, busy, ready to hire help, and then, everything canceled, and I had to close. Although I did make it through to reopen, it set me back to where I was in the beginning. Now, I am busier than ever, and so thankful for that, but because I lost so much, I’m still not at a place where I can afford help, and I just do not have it in me to continue alone. I am here 12-16 hours a day, 6, sometimes 7 days a week. Yes, I know, some of you are thinking, “but you’re only open 3 days a week.” This is true, but those are just my walk-in hours. I am here all the time doing wholesale and custom orders. While it feels exciting and amazing to be this busy, and to have this demand, it takes a toll on my family for me to be away so much. I have two kids who are still so young, and I miss out on so much. It is the sacrifice we make to try to be something for our family. I did know what I was getting myself into, but I maybe didn’t expect it to be quite this hard. I would love to continue, but I can’t continue with the way things are now. I have met soooo many amazing people, so many people who understand what I do here and appreciate my tiny bakery. I am so thankful for this experience and to everyone who made it happen! I cannot thank you enough!
Please do not worry if you have an order in! I will still be here at least until November, and fulfilling the orders I have. I will also continue to take orders through October.
With that being said, I will be looking for someone to buy my space. It is the perfect kitchen for a small bakery, cupcake shop, cookie shop, cafe, small catering company. There is so much potential here, so many things you could do that I haven’t had time to get up and running, like birthday parties! Please message me if you or someone you know is interested!!
