I’m convinced the high that many of us are yearning for is actually achieved when fasting.. you can’t get it from food, herbs or nobody’s son (or daughter). 😏

It’s a kind of connection that only you can give to you.. it’s a dopamine hit that not even a sermon could convey.. a night on the town could provide.. or your flyest fit could be giving.. lol

I’m 63 hours in and this 5th volume told me I can have whatever I want.. whenever I want it and however.. in this life and the next.. no limitations, shortcuts or settling.. come with it or don’t come at all.. it said. 🤓

A throwback to sum up how I’m feeling through vol 5.. I have a low tolerance for that which does not serve me or the mission.

For the past 2 months I’ve been fasting (every other week) intentionally with only liquids (water, herbal teas and black coffee) for 72 hours at a time.

This fast is aligned with my father’s recent cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy appointments.

I’ve learned more about the power of fasting, how to reset and recalibrate the body and how this journey is not about going without food or even the cancer alone but the kind of detaching, discipline and the power of synching one’s mind, body and spirit to get through and overcome anything.. and I do mean anything.

A few areas of growth that I’ve experienced:

- loss of visceral fat
- relearning the meaning of food as energy-nutrition
- lower cravings
- more creative and expressive in how I show up
- my father and I are synched with our energy levels
- better boundaries in social and work environments
- deeper rest
- more mental capacity and productivity after 36 hours
- more aware of my habits and impulses
- adhd symptoms are limited
- digestive wellness
- clearer skin
- the pros outweigh the cons despite what the naysayers say about fasting

As mentioned, my plans are to continue this over the next 4-6 months.. I’ll keep yall in the know. 🤞🏽

The young one woke up and said he wanted “cakes and white eggs”.. translation.. pancakes and boiled eggs 😅

So, mama whipped him up some gluten free almond flour pancakes with a couple boiled eggs, with cucumbers and apples on the side.

Found out that one of our favorite brands is owned by the big food boys.. so no more boxed convenience over here.. well until I get my hands on local gluten free bags. 😮‍💨

I am exactly who I think I am.. the fourth volume of my 72+ hour fasting journey is complete. 🙂‍↕️

I’m currently resting and am still going at 83 hours.. will be breaking fast here soon. Taking my time and easing into my Sunday.

Here’s a few clips of me sharing the journey and how I did things a bit different to support my wellness and allowing myself to experience the fullness of moments out in the world.

Thank you for feeding me last night it was a great way to conclude my 72 hour mark at 10pm. 👏🏽

A few of my quarter 1 fits.. and finesse.

I don’t subscribe to what’s “professional” with my day job.. it seems like such an outdated way of being.. however, I do what’s most comfortable and what speaks to my mood for the day.. and if it aligns with me doing my job to the best of my abilities.. while also looking good (to me) too.. then I’m putting it on.. everytime. 🙂‍↕️

For every man in my DM’s or thinking about it.. “don’t hurt yourself” my stories has context. 😏

Nah, but for real.. this weekend’s meals before this 4th round of a 72 hour fast (planned for 3/15-16) was much needed.. but just like any routine.. I planned my takeout days just like I plan my weekly staples.

I have a greater goal in mind.. and next to consistency it’s ensuring my body gets everything that it needs.. cravings included.
