It’s my birthday! Which also means It’s Afragola Dolce’s 1st birthday. I cannot believe that a post on IG of a cake I made for myself during quarantine is what made my business happen. I love that my business started purely by leaning into doing something I love and my authentic self. The best birthday gift a girl
could ask for!!

Before AD I, like many were in the limbo of not knowing what was going to come after the pandemic. I didn’t have a job or a lot of money or a plan or any experience in business, but I had passion, determination and faith that this would all work out. I figured that if people were willing to reach out to purchase a cake even when I wasn’t intending on selling one that if I just continued to create what I love that customers were bound to follow.

I focused on designing, creating and captivating instead of worrying about sales. I was able to start collaborating with an extremely talented group of creatives .photo and and looked at myself as the designer and creative director of my brand instead of just a baker. It’s truly incredible what happened next, I got to meet all of you!

As my business grows, it still brings me the most joy when I get to meet and see one of you enjoy something that I’ve baked. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the most incredibly crazy and rewarding first year!! There is so much more to come!
