This week's menu is simple:

Each loaf is naturally fermented, hand-shaped, and baked fresh Friday morning in my home kitchen.

With temperatures climbing this week, I thought I’d switch things up and make Friday dinner a little easier! Instead of sourdough loaves, this week's bake will be:
✨ Sourdough Pizza Dough Balls ✨

Perfect for an easy family pizza night, backyard dinner, or letting the kids create their own pizzas.

Each dough ball comes with simple baking instructions and is made with my slow-fermented sourdough process for a flavorful, homemade crust right from your own oven.

This is one of those recipes I keep coming back to because it's simple, reliable, and they always disappear fast. A little sourdough discard, a touch of instant yeast, and they're ready in under 2 hours.

Golden on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and perfect for snacking, game days, or sharing with family.

Have you ever seen a jar of sourdough sitting inside an open microwave and wondered why?

After we feed our starter, it needs a warm, stable environment to wake up and get to work. One of our favorite tricks is using the microwave as a "hot box" — with the door cracked just enough to keep the light on.

The small amount of warmth from the bulb creates a cozy environment that's warmer than the countertop but not hot enough to harm the wild yeast and beneficial bacteria. That gentle warmth helps the starter become active, bubbly, and ready to help create the flavorful loaves you love.

No microwaving involved! Just a simple baker's trick for maintaining a consistent temperature while our starter does its thing. 🥖✨

Healthy starter = better fermentation = better bread.

I’m so excited to share that the bakery has officially been approved in our new neighborhood — and this week, Country Crumb Co. is relaunching our small-scale bake days for our new neighbors.

Fresh bread, slow-fermented favorites, and simple good things are coming back out of the kitchen this week. Can’t wait to bake again. 🍌🥖✨
