Tonight’s Mardi Gras fundraiser dinner at The Titusville Eagles was a success. We provided the sweet ending with beignets. It is always a great time when we are there and it’s always for a great cause.

Doing some taste testing this evening in Mimi’s kitchen. Everyone in my house loves these days!!

It’s almost Mardi Gras time and we have an order for some fresh beignets for an event this weekend. Testing out some recipes this week to put together the perfect one for our order.

Fresh beignets and king cake always remind me of my grandma and my childhood summers visiting New Orleans.

If you were only able to smell the delicious aromas coming from Mimi’s kitchen today. We have been busy baking for Super Bowl Sunday and preparing a few items for our orders that will be picked up this week. The sweet chocolaty smell of brownies baking and the smells of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate coming from our homemade crunch toppings for some of our cakes and other desserts. Check out our football brownies and a couple jersey brownies to represent our local athlete playing in the SuperBowl tonight. Jawaan Taylor, #74 on the Kansas City Chiefs, was a 2016 Cocoa High School Graduate. We also have our Strawberry Crunch Crumbles and our Chicolate Crunch Crumbles that are all homemade and will be the topping on our Strawberry Crunch cakes and other desserts and a new flavor will be announced this week using the Chocolate Crunch Crumbles.

Our Valentine’s Day Pre-Sales end today so get up ur orders in and fill up our last 2 spots.

Locally owned businesses need everyone's help all year long and it's so important to find a way to help them out as so many are basically operating day to day, just hoping that they can continue to live out their dreams of owning a business. If you've never owned a business, you really have no idea how difficult things are, and over the past few years things have become exponentially worse.

The government can say that the economy is doing great, but the reality "on the ground" is quite different as business owners have to navigate every increasing prices, delays in getting products, the need to pay employees more and so much more that people who don't own businesses can't grasp.

That doesn't mean spending your hard earned money every day (after all, consumers also are feeling the facts of life these days). You're obviously on social media if you're reading this and showing some love to your favorite locally owned businesses on your own social media streams helps with the whole "word of mouth thing".

Destination Brevard was created to help locally owned businesses in any way we can, but it's truly up to everyone in every community to help out however they can.

I'm turning off comments for this post because it's not actually being put up to start a discussion, it's simply laying out some facts and how we can all help the heart and soul of every community, it's locally owned businesses.

Boxing up some orders for a Valentine’s Day event tomorrow. Our Chocolate Chocolate Chip & M&M cookies are a chocolate lovers dream come true. They are chewy chocolate cookies loaded with mini chocolate chips and Valentine’s Day M&Ms then topped with some festive Valentine’s Day sprinkles. We also have our Valentine’s Day Peanut Butter Blossoms that have a soft peanut butter cookie rolled in Valentine’s Day sprinkles and Pink Sugar with a Dove chocolate heart nestled in the center.

If either of these flavors are calling your name then your in luck. We have a few of each flavor available this weekend for pick up. $2 each or 3 for $5. Sale ends Sunday or until we are sold out.

One of our favorite things to do is giving back to our community. My family is filled with military vets and are also members of the Eagles Club in Titusville. Today I brought a couple boxes with a few of our Valentine’s Day treats to share with everyone at the Go For The Gold event this afternoon. Pictured below is our decorated Chocolate Covered Oreos, heart shaped Strawberry cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and topped with chocolate decorations and sprinkles and one of our new cookie flavors, Strawberry cookies with white Chocolate Chips and M&Ms.
