Never did I ever dream about running a bakery. In fact, I spent very little time in the kitchen before I was married. I didnt even know you have to knead bread:/ Yes, that was before I had google to tell me these things:) But, with Trial and Error I learned not only how to bake, but that I LOVE IT. So, I started to attend a flea market in Wapello, IA once a month for about 2 years. As the business continued to grow I decide it would be better to start taking orders from home and no longer attend any flea markets.
The first couple years the offical name was just Kelli’s Baked Goods. After a lot of thought a I wanted a “better” name. So we combine 2 of my favorite things flour and barns. Someday in the future the plan is to move out of my house into a “barn”.
As a stay at home mom, one of the most important thing to me is to get to be here for my family. I love the flexiblity of getting to work side by side with my kids (most of the time:) Also I enjoy working with people, bringing back the old fashion home cooked yeast breads, cookies, cakes, etc.
In the Knapp household we strive to keep Faith, Family and Friends a priority, and in that order. The Flour Barn Bakery strives to have top of the line customer service with a top of the line product to go with it. We stand behind our products 100%. You dont like it you dont pay for it, no questions ask.
A little about me personally. I was married in 2006. My husband and I have 3 children, 1 “all” boy and 2 “giggling” girls. All which now attend Mediapolis School.
