Okayyyy…I know I’m on a roll today!! 👀👀But can we just stop and look at how pretty pink sourdough is?!

I mean…I’m a pink girl 🎀👛👙 everything navy or pink is my jam!! (Except that itty bitty bikini 😂)

So… I’m just happy to say so many have already ordered the DYE FREE PINK SOURDOUGH!! Made with beet root powder, which doesn’t add any flavor, it’s just perfection!! 💁🏼‍♀️ I’m over here like, “Everything is better in Pink…it just is!” 💞

While out shopping for some upcoming vendor events, I turned the corner to see this.

I just paused…if you’ve been with me from the start, you know my Sourdough is named after my Nana who passed away at a young “104” years old just over a year ago. “Gertie”, my Sourdough starter never lets me down and brings me so much happiness…just as my Nana did, and still does! So when I turned and saw this, I smiled and paused to just feel the moment of gratefulness. I then decided to take the picture…not sure why, but I suppose to relive the feeling again and again.

Then I realized…I get to do this weekly! Every time I am baking, and working for each of you…I’m able to revisit the memories, the feeling and kind of slow time to just be in the moment. So thank you all…I am Blessed.

🩷It’s Monday!!! Time to get into Easter mode! (This is my way to motivate yall and MYSELF! 🤪)

💛Okay, so we have a new Menu!! New items, such as cookies! New flavors too! Carrot and brown butter chocolate chip!! Oh and strawberry cheesecake scones!

What does this week look like? I have limited quantities that I can accept of each item, because I’m a microbakery and there is only “me” (even if there are multiples in my mind…😜) I can only commit to having so much done for Friday.
💚What does this mean? In short, order now! I will begin my prep Wednesday and I will not accept late orders as I also am hosting my entire families Easter. 🐣 ✝️

✝️ Easter Menu ✝️

💜I have created a New Easter Menu for pick up Friday 4/18 4-8pm or Saturday 4/19 8-11am.

💟New flavors and new items!! As always the staples are still there, the traditional sourdough (both) will be “pink” swirled for Easter! Dyed naturally with beet root powder. Don’t forget the sandwich bread for those ham sandwiches next week. 😉

Granola for our week, this is High protein Maple Cinnamon with cranberries, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, flax seed, peanuts, cinnamon vanilla maple syrup and spices. My FAVORITE so far! Crunchy and perfect to eat as clusters or to add to yogurt/cereal!! 🫶🏼

Lots of fun options for the (cold 🥶) Spring days we’re having! 😂

💙What’s happening at Freckles & Flour?? Life seems to be flying by…or is it just me? 🙋🏼‍♀️ This week alone we have Colton’s 11th birthday tomorrow, his Opening day of baseball Saturday, with his first game and then his team pictures. Yes, in that order so I’m sure the pictures will be of his hot red sweaty face…but I’d have it no other way! A perfect reminder that he is stronger than anything he faces. None of his diagnoses DEFINE HIM!! He is funny, SO sweet, caring, helpful, curious, very mindful and deliberate. We will spend Saturday night celebrating his special day!! 🥳
💗We also will be celebrating my mother in law’s 75th birthday this weekend. A milestone, and another reminder of how blessed we are as a family! She loves her family and is always looking for ways to be together, and make us feel loved.

💙This is the very reason Freckles & Flour, LLC came to be!! I am literally living the life I was praying for… a way to use my Joy of baking and sourdough making, to help create better tomorrow’s for Colton. And you’re helping me to do just that! I hope I am bringing a warm welcoming and loved feeling to your home with each Sourdough bread ordered.

💛I have a lot of fun and exciting things coming over the next month, vendor events, donation baskets, Easter, Mothers Day, Colton’s Cystic Fibrosis Walk, baseball and archery!

I’m mindful of my Blessings with every single thing I’m doing. Even when I am falling short, and trust me it’s a lot! 🙃 I remember that Colton’s watching me…as are my older children. I just keep going, and have faith! Some weeks the orders are insane, some I work hard to gather them…and some just fall short. With only one income for my family, this can be hard, but I’m reminded that sometimes in order to be “advanced” we have to pull back and prepare for what’s to come. I invision a sling-shot, and use my off time to make changes, create new recipes, and do the office work needed to run all of this! It’s a lot of work for one person, but I love it! (And Colton helps me tons) You guys continue to support my microbakery, and continue to show up so I can show up for Colton and those that I’m a caregiver for. Thank you!!

I have received two separate messages asking about the high protein options. Which do I prefer, and what should they buy. This is my take on them…

High Protein Sourdough or Traditional Sourdough…. both are wonderful!(I’m biased 😉) If you’re into working out, looking for higher protein options here is a great way to enjoy it!
If not, you can’t go wrong with the sourdough bread or sandwich bread. Made from flour, salt, distilled water you get the soft crumb with a nice crust. 🤌🏼 * compared to store bought which has a paragraph of ingredients listed. The sandwich bread is exactly what you expect for “regular bread” fluffy, soft, and literally can be eaten plain it’s that good. 😊

♥️⚾️💙Who’s busy with lots of baseball practices now?? 🙋🏼‍♀️ I know I’m so thankful to see Colton out on the field again! I now am remembering how our nights used to go…Yep we are either rushing to eat beforehand or starving when he leave the field headed straight to eat! 🥴

I’ve found the perfect fix!! We eat granola / energy bites on the way to the field and honestly we all left saying “ I’m not starving… we can eat something easy at home.”
♥️⚾️💙So if nothing else…I’ve found something healthy AND filling that doesn’t make me feel like crap for eating it & doesn’t upset Colton’s stomach before practice! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
