🫶🏼To clarify: my daughter was assaulted in 2021 by Stephen Michael Smith. They were simply friends, never dated. He served time but not enough….

My daughter Kaitlin has moved well past that time in her life- however the mental toll it takes will likely always remain if even in her subconscious. Kaitlin is in a loving relationship and has a life she is very proud of. 🌅Today- we received this article of a new female having been assaulted by him. We are skeptical but hopeful the justice system will protect others from having this occur again.

Even having such times in our lives, we get to choose what we are known for. How others feel in our presence, and weather we become hardened from experiences or circumstances or if we choose to bring light to others and make them feel better for having known us. Well when I see this post, it made me smile… we are blessed. 🫶🏼

⚠️This is what he did to my daughter. (May 2021) they were NOT DATING. Had been friends from high school. (These aren’t even the worst of the pictures…) This is what we had to look at while helping our girl recover, helping her to build her strength, sleep without nightmares, learn to live alone and not be completely terrified…and go through a very dark, painful time.the bruises healed… fear lessened… but the internal wounds remain for her and I and I don’t think they’ll ever totally be gone. My husband walked in the room and just the 2 second sight of her beautiful face… brought him to tears. He could hardly speak.

❌Reality is… Friends still hung out with him, people used it as a “gossip” time, not realizing the reality of what had occurred. Without warning, no altercation… he just started punching, strangling and screaming at my daughter. She lost consciousness, and had to find her way out of the situation while convincing him she wouldn’t tell anyone. A total waste of air, a do**he, and a predator. I pray he gets every bit he deserves…. But for now I pray for the girl going through such a horrible experience. Karma is a bitch… 👊🏼
I promise to be at the court this day… to see the look on his face, when he sees me there…. Priceless.

Super proud of Colton!!! He went into the garden, got tons of fresh veggies, Roma tomatoes, peppers, onion, and used everything to make this ginormous (gallon) jar of fresh salsa! This is great for cooking, salads, nachos, plain, tacos, and great on a cold cut sub/sandwich! Looking for even more new recipes to use this!
