Five years. Thousands of pounds of butter, flour, and sugar. Entire bins full of cookie cutters. Many, many late nights spent at the counter crafting cookies. Countless birthdays, baby showers, weddings, graduations, moments, and memories that Iāve been given the opportunity to share with you.
When I started decorating cookies on a whim, I never could have imagined that it would turn into this! I am so grateful for each one of you who has trusted me with your celebrations over the past five years. It truly means the world to my family and me.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mamaw! We sure do miss you down here ā„ļø
Today is my Mamaw Birdieās birthday.
Iāve been tossing around the idea of making a page for over a year now, so today seemed like the perfect day to make it happen.
Many of you know that I use my Mamawās old fashioned sugar cookie recipe. She was a Southern lady through and throughāshe never met a stranger and wouldnāt dare let anyone leave hungry. Some of my favorite memories of her are watching her cook or just hanging out in the kitchen while she prepared food.
My Mamaw couldnāt sit still. She was always on the go, always doing something, always busy. If you know me well, then you know Iām a bit of the same (juuuuust a bit š). Recently, my dad told my to relax. I replied that I wasnāt sure I knew how to do that, and he said, āOkay, little Birdie!ā I know that he was trying to pick on me, but I would be thrilled to be even the tiniest bit like her!
And thatās how Little Birdie Bakery came about. I knew that I wanted to incorporate her into my ābusinessā name somehow, so his off handed comment felt like the perfect fit.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mamaw! I hope I make you proud ā¤ļø
