We proudly use their produce for our canned products such as our pickles, salsas, relishes, chow chows and seasonal jams. Being able to buy local and using clean produce is a very important part of what we create. Go by and say hi!!
If you want fruits and vegetables grown on a local farm without harmful pesticides, you can find Lance Family Produce at the Warren County Farmers Market every Wednesday and Saturday.
Ray and Angela Lance grow everything they sell on their 11-acre farm in Morrison. The farm features two greenhouses which allow them to get started with seeds in January.
The Lances do not use harsh chemicals and embrace natural gardening.
“Our daughter is 3 and she runs outside and eats straight from the garden,” said Ray. “The other day, she was eating beets right from the ground. I couldn’t have her eating that way if we were not using safe practices.”
The Lances usually take November and December off and farm the other 10 months of the year.
Ray says their most popular items are tomatoes, corn, watermelon, and cantaloupe.
“We plant the cantaloupe at different times of the year so we can harvest them in stages all through the summer,” said Ray.
Their booth at the Farmers Market is a showcase of fresh vegetables that also includes cucumbers, squash, green beans, cabbage, broccoli, and okra.
When it’s peak season and their garden is bursting, Angela says they need to set up at the Farmers Market twice a week to sell their produce while it’s fresh. They are helped in the business by Angela’s mom, Nelda Parsons.
