I have a hard time with social media. It’s so weird with the focus being how many likes, how many followers, comments, views, etc. as if it determines success.
It strangely feels like selling your soul…
But hey here’s a pain au chocolat am I right 😂
Jokes aside, though, I want to seriously take a moment to say thank you for being here.
For following along.
For your excitement.
Your patience.
Kindness.
Your smiling faces every Saturday.
That is exactly what isn’t shown here on this grid.
At the market we get community.
I’ve been lucky enough to have that with you all for eleven years. I’ve grown so much as a person with y’all by my side, not just a baker or business owner.
While I don’t personally get to the market until a little later these days, I can say that every single time I am there I get to hear about all the little flour fam joys. And honestly that alone reminds me why I do what I do. Because at times it does feel monotonous, and I, like many folks, forget…
But then I pull these pastries out of the oven every Saturday morning.
I take the bread out, and I get to hear it sing.
I get to watch my team pour in at 0500, ready to take on the day while we make dad jokes.
They bag viennoiserie while I fill different items and garnish them, often thinking “Dang…I made that” with a smile.
And I look forward to seeing the photos you all post.
I get excited to hear the stories of the day.
What item folks craved most or what flew off the table first.
That little reminder that has always been you 🤍
Thanks, flour fam.
Y’all really are the best, and I’m forever grateful for each of you.
You.
Me.
Us.
Our success. Our joys.
Our flour fam 🥐
Cheers,
-B
