So, it’s Saturday and here’s the tl;dr: it’s just us, laura & johnny, today.

-we ARE OPENING at 8am as per usual, because a. breakfast sandwiches and b. we hate to disappoint you on a Saturday. -BUT we are CLOSING at NOON.
-As much as we want to think we are superhuman, we aren’t, and doing this just the two of us on a Saturday is pretty crazy, so throughout the day we may also have to prioritize walk in customers over answering the phone, or make menu adjustments as service levels necessitate.
However, we WILL try to provide you with as close to normal service as we can, and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding ❤️

4/19/21 UPDATE:
We were pleased to find out that our teams' contact is healthy, which confirms that no one on our team was exposed to covid. We're again reminded how grateful we are to have such a responsible and conscientious team here at the cafe, one that truly cares for each other AND takes our commitment to serving you safely seriously.
We all look forward to seeing you this week!

Good Morning:
We are temporarily CLOSED after learning that a close contact of our team was exposed to covid-19. While no one on our team has been directly exposed we are still taking pause to complete deep cleaning and consult with the board of health to ensure we are taking all necessary steps to continue to serve you safely and provide a safe working environment for our team.
We realize that this may seem overly cautious to some, but we did not come this far safely and without incident to start taking chances now.
Should anything further need to be communicated to you, we will of course do so.

UPDATE: Deep cleaning has been completed, and we have confirmed with the BOH that because there was no direct exposure, no quarantine is required. However, after further team consultation, we have decided to remain closed until a negative test result is confirmed. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving our community again soon!

Many Thanks to the Assabet Co-op Market for asking us back for a second virtual class! We had a great time showing our fellow coop owners how to make these super easy vegan chocolate truffles for Valentine's weekend!
PS: If you don't want to make your own, we have some for sale at Serendipity Cafe this weekend while supplies last. (Sat & Sun 8a-2p).

Happy Thursday!
We’ll be OPEN today 8a-2p! Johnny was able to repair the mini oven we had in storage and it’s enough that we can limp along without too much disruption to you while we replace our main oven. This one is much less powerful and has only about ⅓ of the capacity of our main oven, so things take longer (we woke up earlier, too 😴) and we’ll have a little less variety/quantity but aside from being sold out of turkey until at least next Thursday, there should be no major menu changes!

Thank you sincerely to those who have asked... Given the fact that so many in our community have been affected by the pandemic, we decided pretty quickly that we don't feel right about soliciting donations to replace our oven at this time.
We're moved and grateful for the outpouring of support we have received and thank you for continuing to shop local with us, as this is ultimately how we'll continue to weather the pandemic and put that new oven we have to buy to good use!
