It's , and we're dedicating this one to ALL of our local partners, sponsors, and supporters. Greater Matthews Habitat for Humanity trusts in and relies on, the generosity of the community. We continue to see an increase in the demand for services as affordable housing continues to be out of reach for so many in our community. Currently, we have 7 families waiting for homes, and a strong partnership with our community partners helps bring us one step closer to bringing those families home. Providing our homeowners a quality home is more than just roof and walls because together we build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
So how can you help?
If you are a local business who specializes in anything construction, you can help us keep costs down by making an in-kind donation of materials or services, like Huber Engineered Woods or Carolina Greenscapes of Matthews, Inc. does. Or if you're a restaurant or community group, you can help feed our volunteers like Chick-fil-A Matthews, City Barbeque, Krispy Kreme Matthews or New Friends of Carolinas have all, and hopefully will continue, to do.
You can host a fundraiser at your business to help us raise money and awareness like Chick-fil-A for our Shower Matthews Event, City Barbeque for our Barbeque Fundraiser, The Pizza Peel Matthews for the Flying Pig Pizza Fundraiser, or John Street Graphics.
Or you can support our ReStore like Lowe's Home Improvement does with out-of-season and scratch-and-dent merchandise, Duke Energy does by sponsoring our MaxLite program, CPCC Levine Campus does by promoting us as a Service Learning partner, or Harris Teeter does by providing the bread for our ReStore Bread program.
Even if you don't think you fall into any of these categories, we bet you still have something to offer. Maybe you are like Woodforest National Bank and can provide Homeowner education or Promising Pages who donates books to the children of all of our new homeowners.
