With the recent new year, we have been very busy with keeping up with our resolutions and home updates. Part of my family is Jewish and we enjoy incorporating their holidays into our traditions. While it is not the Jewish New Year, it is still a new year and I wanted to explore this more.

Rosh Hashanah or Head of the Year is a holiday full of important customs and traditions. One of the deserts made during this time is a honey cake. These cakes can be seen in multiple countries, but they hold a stronger meaning during Rosh Hashanah. It is a cake that connects Jews to the study of the Torah and this cake can be dated back to 1105. This cake has evolved and was originally given as a treat for learning the Torah.

Not only that, but the honey symbolizes the sweetness that is meant to come in the new year. It has taken many interpretations and can even be made vegan and gluten free. 😋😋😋

Flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, honey, oil, eggs, brown and white sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, brewed coffee, and orange juice

Happy 4th of July Everyone! We can’t wait for our block party tonight 🙌🏻🙌🏻. Fireworks and Friends are always a great combo but delicious sweets make it all the better! Tonight we will have Pig Pickin Cake, Chocolate Pie, and a good ole American classic Apple Pie (my favorite) 😋🎆🎇

Keto is a very popular health trend right now. My husband and I started this on Monday, and I get a lot of requests for Keto Deserts. It may seem almost impossible to have deserts while on Keto, but it can be easy if you find the right substitutes.

I normally make Keto Shortbread cookies that are buttery and delicious at on 2 grams of carbs per cookie. I’m going to branch out today because I’ve been craving some lemon curd tarts. Ryleigh Kate and I will be hitting up the grocery store later today to see if we can master this recipe next 😍. I’ll make a post later today with the results.

Also, I still have 2 8x8 tins of Pig Pickin’ cake left for $10 each. It’s a super moist mandarin cake with a pineapple pudding topping 😋😋😋 such a great desert for summer and will keep well in your fridge! Message me if you are interested 😉
