A little long, but a whole year of gratitude deserves more than a few sentences. 🥹 If you’ve ever supported The Sugar Shack, this one is for you. 🩵
One year. ONE WHOLE YEAR OF THE SUGAR SHACK LLC. 🥹
If you had told me a few years ago that I would own my own bakery, I genuinely don’t think I would have believed you. In my lifetime, I never imagined I would have a business of my own, let alone one that has brought me so much happiness, so many incredible people, and a community that makes all the late nights worth it.
Today, I am sitting here with a heart so full of gratitude that I honestly don’t even know how to put it all into words. But I’m going to try, because so many of you have been a part of this first year, and you deserve to know just how much you mean to me. 🥹🤍
To my community: THANK YOU. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for welcoming The Sugar Shack, supporting my little bakery, trusting me with your custom orders, and stopping by my blue bakery cart. The compliments, the kind words, the messages, and the excitement you bring to my weekends leave me speechless more often than you know. You have made this dream feel bigger and more special than I ever could have imagined.
To my neighbors and regulars: You deserve your own little shout-out! To the neighbors who stop by the cart regularly, you are the ones who keep selling that cart out! 😂💙 And to all my regulars, there is nothing quite like seeing your familiar faces show up, shop, and support my little business. You have become such a special part of this journey, and seeing you come back brings me more joy than you know.
To everyone who has trusted me with a custom order: Thank you for trusting ME to be a little part of your special moments. Whether it’s a birthday, a celebration, or simply a sweet treat for the weekend, it means so much that you choose The Sugar Shack.
To my school family: When I walk into school carrying bags full of baked goods and everyone jokes that it must be delivery day, it makes me smile every single time. 😂🍪 There is nothing I love more than getting to combine my two worlds and share a little piece of my bakery life with the school community. Thank you for cheering me on, placing orders, and giving me the opportunity to share something I love so much with the people I spend my weekdays with. It truly means the world to me.
To my family: You are the people who see what happens behind the scenes, and I could never thank you enough.
To my husband, thank you for supporting this dream in all the ways people don’t always see. From handling things at home while I’m having a midnight crash-out in the kitchen after a full week of teaching, to encouraging me through the long nights and exhausting weekends, you have been there through it all. 😂🤍 Thank you for letting me chase this dream and for loving me through every late-night baking marathon.
To my mom, thank you for constantly sending me recipes, dreaming up fun themes, and somehow making little bakery surprises/packages show up at my house to keep the creativity going. You always find ways to add a little more fun to this journey, and I love that.
To my brother, who unfortunately doesn’t always get the pleasure of enjoying my baked goods because we live a little too far apart, don’t worry… shipping them to you will forever be my favorite ongoing joke. 😂📦 One of these days, we’ll make it happen!
And to every single cheerleader in my corner — every person who has encouraged me, shared a post, told a friend, placed an order, complimented my work, or reminded me that I can do this — THANK YOU. Even the smallest acts of support have meant more than you will ever know.
The Sugar Shack may be a small home bakery, but the love, encouragement, and community behind it have been anything but small.
This first year has been filled with learning, growing, experimenting, late nights, early mornings, flour-covered counters, moments of doubt, and so many moments that have reminded me exactly why I started. I am still learning, still dreaming, and still finding my way, but I couldn’t be more grateful for where this little business has taken me already.
A year ago, I took a chance on something I never imagined myself doing. Today, I get to look back and say that I did it — and I didn’t do it alone. 💙
