You know her. You love her. She will now be lovingly referred to as: The Local Loaf. 🌾

This loaf is made with 100% fresh milled, local grains from melgardfarmmill in Turlock, Ca. (That’s just 63 miles from my cottage bakery!) Long fermentation unlocks the whole grain benefits in this bread. Freshly milled flour contains all parts of the grain, including the bran, germ, and endosperm, which means more nutrients! Plus, the depth of flavor is unmatched. It is truly something special and I am so happy that so many of you pick up a loaf (or 3!) every week. 🍞

Flour restock, but keep it ✨LOCAL.✨

I went to to restock on fresh milled flour for the bakery yesterday. I drive a little over an hour to get to them for my flour pick ups. I love driving right to their farm to get the grain that they milled, from the wheat that they grew. There’s something really special about that. 🤍🌾

I have increased the amount of flour I typically get here because you guys have been loving the 100% Fresh Milled Sourdough Sandwich Loaves. I love to see y’all excited for local wheat like me! Thank you for doing what you do! So many people are being nourished through the work you do. 🌾

Kinda late to the kinda chic.
Kinda been busy in the kitchen. 🥖

I once saw another cottage baker refer to themselves as the village sourdough baker and I absolutely love that! I love this village. I love being a part of my community.
