I guess I should finally share that I’ve been baking my own little sourdough for the last 9 months. Doughbaby will be fully fermented and done baking in just a few short days.

I do sincerely apologize for neglecting this space. I admit I’m not sure what I want next for this space but I do hope to be back in some way once I’ve got the whole newborn thing figured out again.

Lavender Dreams. This is quite literally the best scone I’ve ever tasted. I’ve been wanting to make a lavender scone for awhile and finally got to doing a trial run this week. It’s light and florally, full of lavender, lemon zest, white chocolate chips and blackberries. It’s finished with a blackberry glaze and white chocolate drizzled on top. These will be available on Tuesday the 29th.

I wanted to name this one Violet after Violet Beauregarde from W***y Wonka but I wasn’t sure anyone would get my reference. So I just named her Blueberry 🤣

Taking orders for August 24th. Get the Blueberry before she’s gone. These make great grilled cheeses and French toast. I’ve even enjoyed it with some chicken salad. This bread is a lot more versatile than you think. But she’s also delicious just toasted up with some good ol’ fashioned butter. 🤍

I’ve tried a lot of different things to get a more sour tasting sourdough. This week I experimented even more and I got the most sour tasting one I’ve made to date. Some people like their sourdough extra sour.

For this specific loaf I used less starter than my Grant County Loaf which is suppose to increase bulk fermentation time which will give it a more sour tang. Then I also let it cold re**rd for a much longer time, about 48 hours. Next time I might even try to let it go longer.

Who here loves an extra sour loaf? Any interest in that? If you are, comment Sour Patch, which is what I’m going to name this extra tasting sour loaf. 😁
